An easy way to reduce aggressive feelings

There are many wealthy people around the world who have almost everything they can possess, but they seem to be still unhappy. Many of us are not really as happy as we look. We have some pain or hurt that had happened to us and we are still carrying that baggage of hurt with us. By being in touch with nature, whether it be with the animals, birds or flowers can reduce agressive behaviour in man and also bring about a calmness within ourselves. Watching a video on nature at least half an hour a day can bring more happiness and purpose in one's life. It is more effective than going shopping and trying to buy material things hoping that these things bring happiness.

Some unsettling feelings

There have been two cases published in the Straits Times regarding the poor practices of private education companies. I hope there will be an investigation into these cases as they had given Singapore a bad reputation.

What I have discovered

I have been taking ENSURE and Noni juice for a few months and have discovered that these two products have really helped me to maintain my health. How do I know that it is these two products that have worked? Just stop taking the products and observe your energy and health level. If your health and energy level drops, this shows that the products really works. Will cheaper taxi fares encourage more people to take taxis rather than owning a car? With more people taking taxis and less people buying cars, car park spaces can be used for other purposes. So how to introduce cheaper taxi fares. The various components of cost in deriving taxi fares need to be examined to determine how taxi fares can be lowered. With more people taking taxis, more jobs can be created in the taxi industry. With less people owning cars, this will also lead to less congestion on the roads.

How to put more money into the people's pocket?

Industrialisation and Technology has changed the equation of supply and demand. Goods today can be produced many times the speed with which they were produced in the past. In addition goods can be produced many times the quantity that can be produced in the past. Yet, we still hear of starvation in many parts of the world, but there is no shortage of food but rather a shortage of money in the hands of these starving people. Is there a shortage of money in the world system? To solve the problem of starvation is to put money into the pockets of these starving people. Eventualy these money given to needy people will end up in the hands of the food industry. For people without a roof over their head, money given to these people will eventually end up in the hands of the building industry. So putting money into the hands of needy people will lead to the growth of the food and building industry.

Many years ago, consumers frustrated over poor quality products and so the ISO quality was introduced where companies that meet a certain standard of quality are given the ISO certification. Investors, sponsors and donors can introduce the Fraud-Free standard where companies and organisations allow themselves to be subjected to fraud audit checks and given the clean bill be given the Fraud-Free certification.

My views regarding punishment in schools

I am strongly against punishing students by making them stand outside classrooms or anywhere else in the school. It is better to send them to the library to copy some literary text, at least they will be learning something. What if many students want to be sent to the library to copy text than to sit in the classroom and listen to the teacher. Well if students want the path of self learning, even better still. For students who are very active and dont like to have to sit like 5 hours in the classroom, let them have some physical exercise first before going to the classroom.

What can donors and sponsors of charitable organisations do to encourage charitable organisations to publish their statement of accounts on the internet? Simply ask them to publish their statement of accounts on the internet. How about getting charitable organisations to allow themselves to be subjected to fraud checks?

What happened to the Empire of Alexander The Great?

Eventually, Alexander the Great started to lose some of his power. A lot of his troops wanted to go home again, but Alexander kept pushing them to conquer more, thus losing their support. In one incident, while drunk, Alexander fought and killed his friend Clitus. At this point, he lost the trust from the already unhappy troops. Not only were some of his soldiers unhappy with him, but a lot of the Macedonians started to dislike him. This was caused by his adoption of Persian ways. Though he was pulling together his vast empire, the Macedonians felt they were losing their leader. Also by accepting his promised deification after his death, he started to feel as though he was a god while he was still living. He started self-worship to help unite his varied territories with a common religion, but he took it too far with prokynesis. Prokynesis is the act of bowing before someone, and Alexander had the people of his empire do so. After all this, Alexander still retained much of his power, but it would soon be taken away from him.

Creating more jobs in the education sector

There have been many construction and demolitions of buildings. So how can public funds be better utilised.

Here is my view:

Create more jobs in the education sector. By reducing the number of students in each class, more teachers can be recruited. Increase the number of subjects students can opt to take.

Goals in Education

What sort of goals do you want in an education system?

Here are the goals I would like to see in an education system.

A place where children are having fun.

A place where children can develop confidence and resourcefulness.

A place where children can have the choice to explore and experience the things and activities they are interested in.

A place where they learn to love and to care.

A place where they can learn to be creative.

A place where they can dream.

Did I say anything about getting As in their studies. No, but if they are happy and confident, the As will come without the tears and the frustrations. After all what are the As for?

By ability and not by age

Have u noticed that children in classes are grouped according to their age rather than by their ability or interests? How would you like to have a year's curriculum done in 6 months rather than a year? Even better, you get to choose the subjects you want to do. So theoretically, some can finish their studies in half the time.

Trapped in a high rise building

Keep a roll of nylon rope ready and a pair of gloves. Tie one end of the nylon rope to the window grill and slide down.

Getting Prepared

There has been the tsunami and earthquakes. Keep a crash helmet and a life jacket ready.

Can It Happen?

Will it be possible for all countries to reduce military expenditure by 10% a year? When every country agrees to reduce military expenditure, the money can be reallocated to employ personnel to monitor all weapons facilities all over the world. This will create more jobs for people. Reducing military expenditure can also reduce fear that we will one day destroy ourselves or some mad man destroy our planet.

There are so many activities that individuals can engage in. Finding one's own interest and spending time enjoying them. There are so many cultural and sporting activities, music, dancing, playing online games that individuals can do.

A more courteous World

Democracy is a word that is too difficult to understand by the average Joe and Jane. Freedom is too vague. Freedom to do what and freedom not to do what. Many would definitely appreciate more courtesy.

Blazing the Trail

One of the most untapped natural resource is the human mind. Instead of Ministry of Manpower, rename it Ministry of Manpower Development. Rename schools into Development of Human Potential instead.
